We believe every congregation should have a presence on the web. To make this affordable for all, we take into account the size of your ministry as it relates to financial need. Typically, larger churches are in a better position to donate to technical services, and so our ministry is based on the idea that for those who can afford to donate, please do! And for those that cannot, please let us help! Church size is defined by PC (U.S.A.) as the following:
- Family Chapel and Pastoral Churches – Average attendance of up to 250 people
- Program Churches – Average attendance over 250 people
- Corporate Churches – Average attendance over 1,000 people
Webhosting
For congregations within the Synod:
- For Family Chapel and Pastoral churches – no charge for web hosting.
- For Program churches – suggested donation of $300 per year toward hardware, software, and maintenance costs.
- Corporate churches – Contact the Synod of Alaska-Northwest directly about your needs and how we can assist you.
For congregations and presbyteries beyond our Synod borders
- For Family Chapel and Pastoral sized churches – $200/year.
- For Presbyteries, Synods, and Program churches – $600/year.

Email
Option 1
Use of MailEnable is free as part of our web hosting package. MailEnable provides robust, stable and fully functional POP3 and SMTP mail services supporting unlimited users and domains.
Option 2
Use of the Microsoft Exchange server and email is free for churches needing 1-5 licenses. In order to cover our cost of licensing for Microsoft Exchange, we are asking churches that need more than 5 licenses to pay $15 per license. This is one-time fee. For churches and Presbyteries outside the synod, the fee is also $15 per license. Exchange's major features consist of electronic mail, calendar, contacts and tasks; support for mobile and web-based access to information; and support for data storage.
Database
The database program that we offer is has just been released and is still in its development stages. Like any “beta” version of a software product, we do not yet have documentation for the database, nor can we guarantee it to be ‘bug free.’ Upgrades will be released periodically containing new features and other refinements. Hourly support is provided directly from the developer at a reduced rate.

- For Corporate churches – $1500 per year and $100 an hour for customizations.

The Tech Ministry at the Synod of Alaska-Northwest is made possible by the generosity of our mid-sized churches and presbyteries and their willingness to share resources. Our members have contributed financially to the entire system thus making it available to those ministries that cannot afford these services. If your ministry can afford to buy extra licenses or contribute to hardware and software maintenance to help out the smaller ministries, donations are greatly appreciated!
