Rev. Bruce Reyes-Chow Elected New GA Moderator

The Rev. Bruce Reyes-Chow, 39, was elected moderator of the 218th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Saturday, June 21. He is the pastor of Mission Bay Community Church in San Francisco and leader in the "emergent church" movement.

Partnerships: Walking Together in Mission

The Synod Assembly would like to extend an open invitation to join us at the annual Assembly meeting as we share stories of our mission together. 

June 11-13, 2008
United PC of Seattle, Edmonds, WA

Highlights: Wednesday, June 11 
7:30 p.m.    Hosted by the United Presbyterian Church of Seattle, worship will be a full Korean Presbyterian service with Rev. Kim from Korean Glory PC in Seattle preaching. Special music will be provided by United PC's choir and a Korean instrumental band. There will be a video during the service presenting a mission partnership of the Korean Presbyterian Council of 24 churches together taking on a project. Following the service there will be interpretive booths setup in the narthex to explain this project and other mission partnerships.

  VETERANS 101
The Rev. Kelly Hansen, Chaplain at VA Puget Sound Health Care System
Come and learn about the various needs of the different generations of Veterans, the network of resources and how your congregation can provide hospitality, support and healing. Discussion will also include a new Synod Council Initiative to empower supportive ministries across the Synod.
   
  RENEWAL MINISTRIES – The Rev. Dianna Kunce 
The mission of Renewal Ministries Northwest is to come alongside and equip the body of Christ to journey along time-honored paths which bring us into God’s presence. These paths quiet us so we can hear God speak into the daily routines and rhythms of our lives and direct us to engage critically in the name of Jesus Christ in our broken world.
   
  LIVING STONES – The Rev. Stan and Jeanne Fowler
"Living Stones" supports Christians in the Holy Land by increasing knowledge about them among congregations, resulting in stronger connections and new partnerships.
   
B.A.M. - BUSINESS AS MISSION – Ron DeMiglio, Owner, Camano Island Coffee Roasting Company.
Ron will share about his mission-based business whose sole "reason for being" is to raise funds for third world farmers. Come and hear how he and his partners got started. Get connected to the various business tools and networks that can help Christians with a heart for mission, organize to support a mission through business.

Worship will be led by Brian Moss, Director of Worship, Music and the Arts at John Knox Presbyterian Church, and a sermon on “Partnerships in Mission” given by The Rev. Rich Leatherberry, Associate Pastor for Missions, Bellevue First PC.
